Watercolor Artist
Divyani Rao is a California based watercolor artist who paints en plein air as well as in the studio. Her process often starts outside; being in the landscape inspires her and makes her want to paint. She finds painting outdoors joyful, working directly from life, in real light and different weather.
Divyani loves the California landscape in all its variety, from coastline to hills to small towns, and uses watercolor to capture the mood, light and colors of each place.
By day she works as an engineer, and painting is where she slows down and connects with what's around her. She hopes her paintings carry that same personal connection for the people who see them.
