My Story
I discovered watercolor in 2023 and it brought a lot of joy back to me. The medium is spontaneous. It asks for presence and focus, which is exactly what I needed. I immersed myself in learning the medium, and I was captivated by the way colors bloom and merge on the paper. In 2025, I began painting outdoors (en plein air) and never looked back. Working directly from life, in real light and changing weather, is challenging and deeply rewarding. It's where my process begins: standing in the landscape, I feel the pull to paint. I also sometimes work in the studio, developing what I've seen and felt outdoors and learning new things.
I feel very fortunate to call California home. Its variety, from the coastline to the hills to small towns, is endless inspiration, and I enjoy capturing the mood, light, and color that make each place its own.
By day I work as an engineering lead, and painting is where I slow down and connect with the world around me. I hope my work carries that same personal connection to the people who see it.
